Sharnbrook Good Neighbours Scheme
The Scheme is run by Churches Together in Sharnbrook and depends on the services of unpaid volunteers from the whole village.
The aim is to help anyone in the village who needs a 'good neighbour' from time to time
Kinds of help we can offer include:

help at times of illness or in an emergency with shopping, looking after children etc.
transport to Sharnbrook Surgery and the collection of prescriptions, transport to the village hairdresser or shops

assitance with household jobs, eg: changing a light bulb or fuse, help with form-filling and general advice

When help is needed for yourself, a neighbour or friend please contact the scheme coordinator.

No charge is made for this service but donations to Christian Aid are welcomed. Donations should be given to the co-ordinator or to David Barnes
Eileen Smith (coordinator)

We are always pleased to hear from anyone who is willing to join the list of volunteers

Except for emergencies, the scheme is not intended to duplicate services carried out by other agencies, eg: transport to/from hospital which should be arranged through your GP or consultant.

Transport for people who cannot use ordinary buses, in the Bedford area for trains, shopping, visiting friends etc. can be arranged through the Door-to-Door scheme (Ring 345327 for information about joining this scheme)

If more regular or long term assistance is required, eg: gardening, visiting, shopping, the Scheme Co-ordinator will try and arrange help from another group or individual.
